CANADA WATER GLOW UP
“A colour soaked jewel box in South East London
as featured in Homes & Gardens’
At the beginning of the year we completed our second collaboration with interior designer Uns Hobbs , giving a much needed glow up to a front garden of a 1980’s one bedroom terraced cottage in Canada Water, South East London.
As the property is being used as a holiday let, we devised a mostly drought tolerant and easy to care for planting scheme to revamp the existing planters. Taking inspiration the many vibrant and textured fabrics and wallpapers as used throughout in the interiors.
The property itself has been transformed from a blank white box into a color-soaked jewel box that feels less like a city residence and more like a boutique escape. What this house design might lack in size, it certainly makes up for in personality.
'We wanted it to feel like a little holiday from everyday London life,' Uns explains to Homes & Gardens. 'It's the sort of building that lacks character from the outside, very much a product of its time, but that's what made the interior transformation so exciting. We had a blank canvas to work with.'

MARMORA ROAD PROJECT INTERIOR PLANTING SCHEME
“A Morrocan Inspired Dulwich Town House’
Working alongside the amazingly talented Interior Designer Uns Hobbs we not only implemented a full redesign for a large back garden and a roof terrace, but also advised on the interior planting scheme. This bedroom which is wonderfully captured by photographer Dean Herne features the illusive black olive tree, Bucida buceras “Shady Lady” sourced from Roots Plants.
With the main inspiration for the interiors for the warm, earthy, and relaxed interiors coming from Marrakesh, Uns Hobbs manages to subtly weave Moroccan and boho influences into a calm, contemporary home. Throughout the property, she designed spaces that feel soft rather than bold; warm, inviting, classic, and timeless. Natural textures, gentle curves, and grounded materials helped her capture the serene, soulful atmosphere the clients were seeking.

ABOUT:BLANK PHOTOSHOOT
“The Grass is Always Greener”.
We had the pleasure of hosting our friends at about:blank for their Drop 6 “The grass is always greener” photo shoot in June 2025 here at our home near the East Kent coastline. A day well spent pottering in the garden, watering the borders and dipping into a bottle of Rosé - as it should be at this time of year. Daises at their peak, temperature rising and the garden buzzing with bees and butterflies.

THE MARGATE MANOR
“Margate Manor is in the middle of nowhere, high Victorian walls hide huge borders of the tallest wafting grasses and simple oxeye daisies. Such simplicity sets the scene for stepping inside this manor house.”
After much deliberation and countless weekend trips to the seaside, me and my partner Max finally took the plunge and moved out of London to the Kentish countryside. To a somewhat neglected 4500 sq ft Georgian Country House and Walled Gardens from the 1720’s, a short drive from the coastal towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. So for the past two years we have had the fortune of painstakingly bringing it back to life.
I have to be honest, it’s still very much a work in progress - we’ll be finished by Christmas we said!? Starting the work in late spring that year. But as so many of you will know restoration takes time and with houses like this you have to give it time. Thoughtfulness, patience and learning as you go along is half of the pleasure. Especially when you get to work with the likes of deVOL, the makers of our much loved kitchen, who recently came by to pay us a visit. A nice reminder of the progress we have made so far - not just focusing on the long list of things that are still waiting to be finished. See some of their lovely imagery below.
You can read all about the kitchen details on their website.
“This home and its owners were very fortunate to have so many beautifully preserved original features. Immaculate wide floorboards, ornate cornice all intact and elegant Georgian windows. The choice to fill these big rooms with huge antique mirrors, Scandinavian classics and the odd rug was just perfect. Some people can live in a home that looks so casually thrown together, it makes the rest of us wonder why we can’t achieve such coolness so easily”
